The ultimate evolution of Porsche’s air-cooled customer competition cars. Built by Porsche Motorsport for endurance racing, the 993 Cup 3.8 RSR marks the final chapter in more than three decades of factory-developed air-cooled 911 race cars, preceding the arrival of the water-cooled GT3 generation.
Based on the legendary 993 platform, the Cup 3.8 RSR combined the proven Mezger flat-six with lightweight construction, sophisticated suspension geometry, and uncompromising race engineering. Produced in very limited numbers, these factory-built competition cars were supplied exclusively to professional teams and experienced privateers in international GT and endurance racing.
Today, the 993 Cup 3.8 RSR is widely regarded as one of the most desirable Porsche Motorsport customer race cars ever produced. Its combination of rarity, competition pedigree, reliability, and eligibility for premier historic events has made it a cornerstone of leading Porsche collections worldwide.
This example benefits from documented competition history and professional maintenance by recognized Porsche race specialists, and it is presented in exceptional condition. It is accompanied by extensive documentation and is eligible for many of the world’s most prestigious historic racing events, including the Le Mans Classic, Daytona Classic 24, Spa Classic, and numerous European and North American historic series.
Whether acquired for competitive historic motorsport or as the centerpiece of a significant Porsche collection, this factory-built 993 Cup 3.8 RSR is among the finest air-cooled competition 911s ever offered to private ownership.
