The Car
A matching-numbers 1979 930 Turbo 3.3 in Grand Prix White over Brown leather, with 23,318 documented original miles, original paint and period PowerHaus/A1 upgrades.
Porsche’s first turbocharged production model established a new performance benchmark, and the early 3.3-liter 930 remains one of the defining sports cars of its era. This matching-numbers 1979 Porsche 930 Turbo 3.3 is finished in Grand Prix White over Brown leather and shows 23,318 documented original miles.
Delivered through Chick Iverson Porsche in California, the car received its first oil change at just 29 miles and its 1,000-mile service in January 1979. A genuine Porsche replacement speedometer was documented when the car changed hands in 1983 at 17,317 miles. The history file includes extensive Porsche records, service documentation and the original manuals.
Under its long-term second owner, A1 International installed a period PowerHaus performance package in October 1993. The upgrade forms part of the car’s documented history and complements its matching-numbers turbocharged 3.3-liter flat-six and four-speed manual transmission.
Imported to Germany by its present owner in 2013, the Turbo has formed part of a climate-controlled collection since January 2014. It has continued to receive maintenance, including work in 2018 and 2024, and retains an unusually well-preserved presentation. Paint readings between 134 and 252 microns support the originality of its Grand Prix White finish.
With collector ownership, matching-number mechanicals, period upgrades and documented low mileage, this 930 is a compelling example of Porsche’s landmark first-generation Turbo. It is German TÜV approved and ready for its next custodian.
