The Porsche 996 marked the start of Porsche’s water-cooled 911 generation and has become one of today’s standout performance values. Finished in Lapis Blue Metallic over a recently refurbished Savanna Beige leather interior, this 2001 Carrera features Porsche’s Tiptronic S automatic transmission with steering-wheel shift controls, making it equally enjoyable in traffic and on spirited back roads. Factory equipment includes a power sunroof, Technic Package, Power Seat Package, Porsche Stability Management, rear-window wiper, and a three-spoke leather steering wheel with airbag. Its staggered Turbo-Look wheels – 19 inches at the front and 20 inches at the rear – were recently refurbished.

Originally delivered in the same Lapis Blue Metallic over Savanna Beige partial leather, the car carried an MSRP of $78,305 when new. With 136,000 total chassis miles, it presents an opportunity to acquire a highly developed 996 that combines everyday usability and comfort with near-Turbo performance and strong throttle response.

At 121,000 miles, the original 3.4-liter flat-six was completely rebuilt and upgraded by Flat Six Innovations. The comprehensive build included big-bore cylinders, forged JE pistons, an IMS bearing retrofit, race-level balancing, and numerous reliability enhancements. A VF Engineering VFK12-01 Street Sport supercharger system using a Vortech V-3 Si centrifugal supercharger was subsequently installed, producing approximately 400 horsepower.

This is more than a standard 996 with an aftermarket supercharger. The Flat Six Innovations performance and reliability build was commissioned by a former owner and would cost more than $25,000 to reproduce today. Dyno testing records approximately 400.3 horsepower and 349.5 lb-ft at maximum boost, supported by the original VF Engineering installation manual and Flat Six Innovations engine specifications.
